WAT 21 and Brno surprising leaders in European Cup

WAT 21 and Brno surprising leaders in European Cup
Adam Fazekas and his W.A.T. 21 leads after day one in Vienna  (Photo by Lukas Kristament 2010)

Today the European Cup for Club Team started in the Wasserpark Felt course in Vienna. Even though it was hard to predict this year’s results the scenario happening today on the course was probably surprising for many.

It was expected that the home team of W.A.T. maybe could come close to Uppsala, but it was not expected that they should lead by 28 strokes after two rounds against the Swedish favorites. Also not expected was that the Uppsala team should only be third after day one, with also the Swiss Team from Olten before them in the results.

In the ladies category the Czech Team of Brno surprisingly leads after one day. In this class it’s extremely tight though and the Göttingen team in third place is only two strokes behind.

Best individually today was Lars Brown of Uppsala with 61 strokes and Natasja Klarenbeek of Leeuwarden with 74.
