Alex Lang wins in Naturns with 54 aces in a row!

Alex Lang wins in Naturns with 54 aces in a row! The 29th edition of "St. Prokulus" international trophy in Naturns have been played by 151 participants coming from Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
The players have been divided in 3 groups (1 Friday, 1 Saturday, 1 Sunday) which played 4 qualification rounds each, plus 2 final rounds for the best 33% of each category.

The most important performance of the day was played by Alex Lang (AMV Algund) which won the men category with the best overall result of 119 (19,83) strokes on 6 rounds, with a fantastic sequence of 18-18-19 rounds with 54 aces in a row from lane 11 of round 1 to lane 10 of round 4.
Alex setted of course all the new records of the course. This is the second consecutive victory for Alex in Naturns, having won this trophy also in 2009.

The local guys Andreas Dall'Acqua and Michael Prantl could do nothing to fight this impressive performance and ended both with 123 (20,50) strokes.

Very good results also in the ladies category, where Petra Szablikowski (1. MGC Mainz), coming there to test the course of the next Youth european championships, showed a very good game with 133 (22,17) strokes, winning the category quite easily, with 6 strokes advantage on Nadine Schlatter (UBGC Höchst).

Also the two youth world champions from Sochi came to Naturn to test the course for 2011 championships.
Martina Danner (ASKO Linz Lissfeld) won the schoolgirls category quite easily with 145 (24,17) strokes.
It was not a good day for the youth world champion Robin Hettrich (MGC Dormagen-Brechten) which scored 96 strokes in the qualifying rounds and didn't get the cut for the final, which was entered by Gerrit Below (MGC Olympia Kiel), Markus Danner (ASKO Linz Lissfeld): both of them ended the 6 rounds with 129 (22,17) strokes. The playoff was won by Gerrit.
Third place in the category for Hannes Laimer (SV Lana) with 141 (23,5) strokes, that strongly place his nomination for the Italian team.

The youth girl category had only one player, Anne Bollrich (SG Ahreilgen) which ended with a good total of 138 (23,00) strokes.

The senior male category was dominated by two player of MGC Siusi, Franz Marmsoler and Dieter Kaufmann, which both ended with 129 (22,17) strokes and had to go to playoff to see which would have been the winner. The playoff was won by the silver medalist of the Senior European championships 2009, Dieter Kaufmann.

The senior ladies category was won by Maria Fuschlberger (1. SMC Liefering) with 134 (22,33) strokes and a big margin on Ingrid Netzband (1. MGC Metzingen) and Sylvie Bausch (MGC Ro' de Lew).

The home team could at least get a victory in the team event, with a big margin on MGC Siusi and AMV Algund.

Other category victories:
- Patrick Gois (MGC Reineck) in the Schoolboys category with 175 (29,17) strokes
- Hans Georg Hildenbrand (BSV 82 Ohlsbach) in the Senior male II category with 131 (21,83) strokes
- Helga Klaiber (UBGC Hörbranz) in the Senior female II category with 146 (24,33) strokes.

The perfect-18 round have been played 5 times in this tournament by the following players:
- Alex Lang (AMV Algund) x2
- Michael Prantl (SSV Naturns)
- Markus Danner (ASKO Linz Lissfeld)
- Hans Georg Hildenbrand (BSV 82 Ohlsbach)
The "Südtirol autumn" will continue next weekend with the 30. Südtirol Trophae in Lana and the following weekend with the 40. Raiffaisen Trophae in Algund on a completely brand new course.
