Erica Tromp and Marco Slomp win Dutch Matchplay

Last weekend organised the Dutch minigolf federation the Dutch matchplay championships. They were held on the courses of the Hole Ridders in Ridderkerk where in 1996 the Europpean junior championships were held.

After eight preliminary rounds the matchplay finals started.

In the mens category was Remon Verveer (Hole Ridders ) on the lead with 207 strokes just before Ruud Slappendel (Zoetermeer) with 208 strokes and André van Vliet (Appelscha) with 210 strokes. In the quarter final Remon Verveer won his match against Henk Goris( The Putters) with 5-3 and lost Ruud Slappendel against Ramon Craane (Oirschot) with 2-6. André van Vliet won aigainst Martin van Holland (Oirschot) (5-3).

In the semi finals was Remon Verveer beaten through Marco Slomp (Zoetermeer) with 2-6. In the other semi-final André van Vliet won against Ramon Craane with 4-3. The final between André van Vliet and Marco Slomp was very exciting and on the last lane Marco Slomp won with 6-5. The bronze medal was for Ramon Craane when he won against Remon Verveer 4-1.

In the ladies category was Erica Tromp (Hole Ridders on the lead after teh eight rounds with 209 strokes just before her clubmate Wendy van Luypen with 212 strokes. On the third place came Natasja Klarenbeek (Leeuwarden) with 216 strokes. In the quarter final won Erica Tromp against Loes van Gisbergen (Oirschot) 6-1. Wendy van Luypen won against Marga Huisman (The Putters) 6-3 and Natasja Klarenbeek beated Dingina Dissel (Zoetermeer) with 7-4. In the semi final beated Erica Tromp Ilona de Kok (Oirschot) with 5-2 and was Wendy van Luypen with 6-0 too strong for Natasja Klarenbeek. In the final won Erica Tromp with 6-4 of Wendy van Luypen. The bronze medal was for Ilona de Kok with 6-4.

In the mens senior category was the title also this year for Jan Engels (The Putters after a victory over Roel Groenhuijsen (Hole Ridders 3-2.

In the ladies senior category the title was for Marrie Bonhof (Aalsmeer) after a victory over the defending champion Elly Mulder (Leeuwarden)) 5-2.
