The German Championship took place on the Eternit and Concrete Courses in Trappenkamp from the 4th to 6th of July. Trappenkamp is located between Kiel and Lübeck in the North of Germany. On the first two days there were 4 preliminary combination rounds to play (one round on Eternit, one on Concrete, in turns) to qualify for the matchplay play-offs on the last day. Another intermediate and final combination round decided the strokeplay champions. On the last day the best 32 men and 16 women played the play-offs in matchplay to find the matchplay champions. This year they were quite lucky with the weather as it was sunny and warm on all 3 competition days.

Antje Kalkbrenner from Bad Salzuflen is the surprising strokeplay champion with a total of 315 (average concrete 29.2, eternit 23.3). She doesn't play for a Bundesliga team. Her team is in the highest league of Northrhine-Westphalia (Oberliga). Jasmin Ehm from Göttingen came 2nd with 322 (average concrete 30.5, eternit 23.2). Jasmin Astrid Uhl from Kiel followed on the 3rd place with 327 (average concrete 31.3, eternit 23.2). Last year's champion Bianca Zodrow didn't play the Championship.

Alexander Geist from Hardenberg won the strokeplay with a total of 288 (average concrete 27.8, eternit 20.2). Last year's Champion Marcel Noack from Mainz came 2nd with 291 (average concrete 27.8, eternit 20.7), followed by Harald Erlbruch from Hardenberg with 292 (average concrete 27.5, eternit 21.2).

As there were less than 16 women playing in the championship all women were qualified for the matchplay. So Antje Kalkbrenner and Jasmin Ehm as the strokeplay winner and runner-up had a free draw in the first round. Jasmin Astrid Uhl, 3rd of strokeplay, reached the semi-final and beat Antje Kalkbrenner. Jasmin Ehm lost against Sabrina Lemke from Kiel in the quarter-final. Sabrina then lost against Nicole Warneke in the semi-final, so the final was Jasmin Astrid Uhl versus Nicole Warneke. This year Nicole could win the final and is the new matchplay champion. Sabrina Lemke ended up on the 3rd place, beating Antje Kalkbrenner.

In the men's category Alexander Geist lost quite early in the round of the last 16, against Henning Weißmann from Göttingen. The same happened to Marcel Noack. He lost against Walter Erlbruch from Hardenberg, who then lost against Lars Greiffendorf from Mainz in the quarter-final. Harald Erlbruch apparently was in a phantastic mood and won most of his matches in an absolutely convincing manner. So the final was Lars Greiffendorf against Harald Erlbruch. Again Harald showed an excellent performance with only aces in the first half of the round. He won the final with 5-0 and is the new matchplay champion. Franz Höfler from Singen ended up on the 3rd place.
