Last weekend, the official sports year began for Porto minigolf players. Although the weather forecast left us hoping for a nice weekend during the whole week, it was just kidding, as the rain was a fellow of ours during these two days.

In spite of the rain’s presence, it was possible to play 4 of the 5 planned rounds – 3 miniaturgolf + 1 beton. During the first day, when the miniaturgolf rounds were played, the winners were almost decided. André Silva recovered from a bad first round of 25 with an always good 19 (especially given the weather and temperature of Saturday afternoon…) and pushed Pedro Carvalho to an honourable runner up place.

In the ladies category, the youngest player (by age and experience…) took the lead in the first round and never let it go again. Special mention for a 24 with 3 strokes in the net and 2 in volcano in the first round…this was a good indicator of a victory for Sónia Fontes.

Ricardo Vitor was also a surprise as some international junior players were participating. This was a first practice for the national championship that will start in March in this course, where the European Championship 2012 was played.
