Uppsala once again showed the rest of the teams in the Swedish Elitserien who is the best when the first round was played on the tough felt course of Örebro. Saturday offered a cold weather but still at least no rain. On Sunday though the weather got worse and the last two matches were decided in quite heavy rain, but all team wanted to play since the whole weekend would otherwise not been counted.
Uppsala impressed with 33,6 team average on the difficult courses and partly played in heavy rain showers. And of course they also impressed by once again win all matches a gaining a five point lead in the table. Closest to win lose points Uppsala was in the last game against one of the main rivals Tantogården. Uppsala had before the last match won their games by an impressive average of 19 strokes per match. In the final game of the day these two teams did a really good match in the heavy rain. It was, as so often in Örebro, the difficult lane 17 (Örkelljungan), which eventually settled in Uppsala's favor.
In this last game Uppsalas anchorman Carl-Johan Ryner scored an incredible 29 in the pouring rain. According to the Swedish head coach Jan Strandberg this result is the achievement of the weekend and should be almost impossible in that kind of conditions.
Tantogården is now second in the table on 9 points, the same as the home team of Örebro. Kungälv is third on 8 points and one of the main rivals of Skoghall ended up with 7 points, certainly not that happy.
At the bottom of the table we find Södertälje on 4 points, Sundsvall at 3 and last is the newcomer Olofström on 2 points.
Team of the weekend are:
1. Anders Olsson , Uppsala , 31,3
2. Carl-Johan Ryner , Uppsala. 31,6
3. Filiph Svensson , Skoghall , 31,6
4. Andreas Cederholm , Uppsala, 32,3
5. Fredrik Tagesson , Olofstroem , 32,4
The next round is played in mid-June on World Championships courses from 2011 in Tantogården on concrete.
