The second of three legs of the Gothenburg Minitour (competition held around Gothenburg on 3 courses throughout the year) was completed on September 11. The first leg was held at Kärralund, run by Gullbergsbro BGK, on the course that hosted the 2014 World Adventure Golf Masters (WAGM) on April 17. Many players who have represented Sweden in international tournaments, including the WAGM and British Open, are playing in this competition.
Jens Bergström, the overall winner of the Minitour from 2015 and 2014 senior male winner in the WAGM, took first place during this leg. shooting a 128 over the four rounds. Rain was again a factor in this tournament as there was some slight rain at the beginning of this round.
The second leg was held at Slottsskogen, which is known as a much more difficult course to find aces versus Kärralund. Roger Niord took the drivers seat with a first round of 38. Howver, the second round saw things shake up as Roger's brother Reine shot a course record 34. The Askim players Gunnar Bengtsson and Jens Bergström were at that time six strokes behind Reine. Jens and Gunnar got closer after the third round but in the end it showed out that Reine was once again to strong in Slottsskogen and finally won by two strokes ahead of the Askim guys, shooting a 158 for the four rounds. Gunnar though won the male class. In the senior female class we saw the category winner from 2014 Linda Lundberg having a tough battle against the home player Ulla Forsman but Linda showed out to be stronger of the two.
The final leg of the competition will be held indoors on October 9th in Grimmered.
In the total standings Jens Bergström is still in the lead having Reine Niord on second place
before last rounds just like last year.
