Since January, Ananias Quintano, a well-known Portuguese international senior player, is the new President of the Portuguese Minigolf Federation.
After 8 years with the actual President of EMF, Victor Condeço, in the lead, the Portuguese Federation changes completely its directors. Ananias composed a team with members coming from different parts of the country and from different teams, in an attempt to start a time of consensus.
This new team starts with a great challenge in hands as they are receiving a federation with a very poor financial situation. Although the 2012 financial statements were not presented yet, the new President has already written to the clubs about the difficult situation that received in heritage. Moreover, the statements of 2011 showed a negative equity of EUR -11.756, meaning that the debts of the federation are bigger than its assets.
In spite of this problem, this new team will be dealing, in 2013, with the organization of the Youth European Championship in Portel. Considering the example of the organizations of Porto and Vizela in 2012, and taking into account the way in which the Portel’s town hall is dedicating itself to this event, it is certain that the new board of directors is going to achieve an excellent result.
