Portuguese National Championship

Portugal 19 Mar 2013 at 11:33 | Published by: agcampos | Views: 8882 | News search

Portuguese National Championship Last Sunday, in Costa Nova, the Portuguese National Championship took off. Making up for the regional’s, and despite the rainy weather forecast, the players were presented with a sunny day and only the last of the four rounds was troubled by some small showers.

On the one hand, given that the present conditions of the concrete course turned the hole in one an achievement rather than a sure thing, the results on this course are quite high. On the other hand, the short lanes of the felt course allowed for better results and even for some blue averages.

As for the results, Manuela Pinheiro (CM Costa Nova) is on the lead on the Women’s competition only two strikes ahead of Fernanda Costa (CM Porto), João Nabais (MC Portugal) is ranked first on the Men’s competition one strike ahead of André Silva (CM Porto), both with blue averages. As for the Juniors, Silvia Oliveira (Vizelgolfe) and Luís Silva Jr (CM Porto) are on the leading position for the female and male competitions, respectively and Carlos Magalhães (Vizelgolfe) and José Lobão (MC Lamego) lead the Youth and Kids’ competitions. Concerning the seniors and the oldtimers, Armindo Costa (CM Porto) and Fernando Santos (CM Costa Nova), respectively, stand first on the rankings.

The next round will be played in Portel in the same course where the YEC and YNC will be played this year on the 14th of April.
