CJ and Karin on top of first ranking in 2009

Sweden 13 Jan 2009 at 21:47 | Published by: Hans | Views: 6861 | News search

CJ and Karin on top of first ranking in 2009 The Swedish ranking that is automatically generated the 10th in each month by the computer system HCP-online has many classes and also calculates ranking on Swedish Felt (F), Eternit (E), Concrete (C) and Average (A). In the ranking for January the both Uppsala players Carl-Johan Ryner and Karin Wiklund tops the overall rankings for Men’s and Ladies classes.

Their CGP points where 26,689 for CJ and 28,831 for Karin. This means that this is their average of their expected results on a normal hard course on Swedish Felt, Eternit and Concrete. For Carl-Johan his CGP point on the respective course types where 30,448 (F), 21,611 (E) and 28,008 (C).

To achieve this calculation all courses in Sweden has a PAR that measures how tough the course is compared to an average course on the course type. As an example of the course played in Olofström had a PAR of 21,9 compared to the overall average on (E) courses in Sweden that is 21,8, so it’s considered a bit harder than normal. To be an indoor hall it’s really hard since the PAR of indoor courses tends to be lower than outdoors. The CGP of a player is calculated on the eight last competitions he has played on the course type (with some exceptions if he plays much in the same course). These eight competition has to be played in the last 36 months to be counted. Also all competitions have a type which gives them a weight in the CGP calculation. An international championship is weighted higher than a national competition since its considered better to win a WC title than a title in your own hometown.
