USPMGA second event in season was brand new event in Plymouth, WI on May 30th- fundraiser for American Red Cross. Mini golf tournament was part of bigger event to raise funds for disaster relief. The tournament course was one of two courses side by side owned by Tom and Jerry Wiesers who were great hosts to first annual Putt For Red Cross event.

It is somewhat difficult to get a lot of players to a new tournament considering the size of our country and lack of local tournament players but Tournament Director Jon Weeden from American Red Cross reached the goal for this year- 10 player sand is hoping next year to reach the goal of 20 or more players. Considering the nice job owners and Tournament Director did this year organizing, it should be achievable. Wisconsin brats and beer after the tournament convinced Matt McCaslin to come back next year, so we can hope that more players will follow.

The Stoney Creek course is par 46 course with extremely fast carpet. It did not stop Matt McCaslin (North Carolina) from setting course record in his first round with score 33 and and from earning extra $300 for most aces in one round- 5. Matt finished with total score of 106 after three rounds and winning 1000$ for first place, leaving Astra Miglane Stanwyck in second place with 116 points and 175$ earnings. Jeremy Inabinet came in 3rd with total score of 127 and 100$ for 3rd place. Jeremy also had most consecutive aces in the tournament (3) adding 300$ to his earnings. Local player Louie Wieser was 4th with 138 points and $75 earnings. Tracy Opper- 5th place, 141 points and 50$, leaving her husband one point behind her.

Second Annual Putt For Red Cross event is scheduled for June 5th and some details in format and prize money might change. Please mark your calendars and come to beautiful Plymouth next year.

Many of our events are part of fund raising for local charities. I think it is great to be able to combine both. The other course was used for fund raising also- just in different way- less competitive people could compete within friends circle or family after making certain pledge to American Red Cross and also earn door prizes and prizes for hole in one on certain holes.
