There are about 300 recesses on one golf ball, and thanks to them, the ball flies three times farther than a smooth one. ... Balls of the same size...

Danish junior dynamite in Swedish Championship

Denmark 18 Jul 2009 at 22:52 | Published by: Hans | Views: 7627 | News search

Danish junior dynamite in Swedish Championship Casper Fredriksen, Putter Team Odense, showed that his performance in the youth world cup in Budapest last year was not a single occasion. Competing with a bunch of hungry Swedish junior wolfs the Dane took a surprising bronze medal. His game was consistent especially on eternit where he was the best of all juniors with an average of 21,0.

A foreigner winning a medal (or actually placing on medal positions since the medals itself can only be given to Swedish citizens) is a rare thing in Swedish Minigolf history. Minigolf news can only find that it has happen 3 times before. In 1994 Jan Lyö, also from Denmark won silver in the Swedish Championships on eternit. In 1999 Petra Baumgartner (nowadays Szablikowski), Germany won silver in the ladies eternit and in 2004 Hans Prescher from Germany won bronze in the men’s veterans’ class on eternit. This is actually the first time a non Swede takes a medal on a championship played on the Swedish Felt.

Petra Baumgartner (nowadays Szablikowski) won silver medal in the Swedish Championships on eternit in 1999 also in Küngälv. At this time Peter Ericsson played in germany for the 1. MGC Mainz and wie had a very nice time in Kungälv as guests of Kjell Henriksson.

The results of German Junior Championships 2009 were reported in an unusual way: instead of the typical one scoreboard showing results of the two minigolf courses (eternite and beton in Kempten), the results of each minigolf course were shown on a separate page ...

Lars Brown, Uppsala, is a bit surprisingly in the lead of the Swedish Championships after 10 of 12 rounds. With a superb 3rd day with only blue results 27, 19, 24, 19 he is leading the men's class by 4 strokes in front of Pierre Zetterlund, Tantogården. These two ...
