WMF has published a new world ranking for adults, juniors, and as a novelty also for seniors. The ranking lists were published today on 31 July, but they are dated "1st March". (WMF ranking is typically published with a date some months in the past.)

Elisabeth Berger-Rella of Austria is new number 1 in women’s world ranking, with 3.320 ranking points. Previous ranking leader Karin Wiklund (Sweden) fell narrowly to second place, with 3.318 ranking points. Natasja Klarenbeek (Netherlands) keeps her third place with 3.114 points.

Anders Olsson of Sweden continues on top of men’s world ranking, with 4.643 ranking points. Far behind come Markus Berger (Austria) in second place with 3.779 points, and Pierre Zetterlund (Sweden) in third place with 3.580 points.

Austrian national team player Christian Freilach is not included in any ranking of WMF, because he still continues an active career in general class, but WMF excludes senior and junior players from ranking of the general class.

Top three in seniors ranking is Jürgen Summ (Germany), Bernhard Kreutter (Germany) and Eduard Schibli (Switzerland). Top three in female seniors is Doris Ertl (Austria), Annalisa Aghito (Italy) and Antonella Flamini (Italy).

Three best in juniors ranking are Vít Škaloud (Czech Republic), Filiph Svensson (Sweden) and Maximilian Krämer (Germany). Top three in female juniors is Jana Nakládalová (Czech Republic), Simona Handlová (Czech Republic), and Frida Elmdahl (Sweden).

As a counter-balance for the missing Austrian from the ranking, British player John "Big Top Ted" McIver is twice there.
