Thomsen at the top in Aalborg

Denmark 09 Aug 2009 at 21:42 | Published by: Ole | Views: 12185 | News search

Thomsen at the top in Aalborg Kåre Thomsen of Aalborg Minigolf Klub won the tournament at his home course in Aalborg.
He won both the preliminary rounds and the Super Cup.

In the prelminiaries he scored 133 strokes, average 22,17. Second was Vincent Huus of Putter Team Odense 2 points behind. He played two good last rounds of 21, 21 which ensured him a promotion to the second rank only 1 point in front of Martin Lundell of Gullbergsbro BGK (Sweden).

The team’s competition was clearly won by Aalborg’s team represented by Kåre Thomsen, Johnny Andersen and Allan Schwab. Second came Gelsted with Jannick Skov, Lars Rosenquist and John Hansen and only 1 point behind them came Putter Team Odense with Vincent Huus, Jan Lyø and Ole Rasmussen.

24 players of both the A-B and C categories qualified for the Super Cup. The cup matches led to the exit of two favorites, Martin Lundell and Allan Schwab, who were beaten by Jannick Skov, last year’s Danish champion at this course.

The final was a match between Kåre Thomsen, Vincent Huus and Jannick Skov. They played very well all three of them. Kåre Thomsen played a 21, Vincent Huus a 22 and Jannick Skov a 23.
Vincent and Jannick’s next competition will be much bigger than this 29-player tournament as they will represent Denmark at the World Championships 2009 in Odense.

Grats to u Kåre for playing a very good tournament. I tried my best to beat u, but in the end im very satisfied with the way i played.

If it was possible, Vincent Huus should have got a special price for good sportsmanship. The cause for that is a thing between me and him, but he would have earned such a price.
Your'e the man, Vince. :-)
