Brown and Samuelsson wins again

Brown and Samuelsson wins again
The price-winners of the 2010 EB Marathon  (Photo by Erik Tiekstra 2010)

This year Lars Brown and Peter Samuelsson are the winners again in the EB-Marathon in Eskilstuna after last year’s loss to CJ-Ryner and Anders Olsson. This was the 6th time in the last 8th years that the couple stood as winners in the end.

This year the winning result craved an average of 20,2 and the margin was only 2 strokes to Sandra Weaver in pair with her father Peter Nordin.

A little bit more thrill than expected was left to the last lane when Peter Samuelsson missed the labyrinth for the first time in the competition. Not only once but three times. Scoring a 4 on the last lane left them with 2 strokes margin to father and daughter. Sometimes the scenario of "needing" a 7 on the last lane to lose is letting loose mind ghost that you didn’t think existed.

On third place was another couple with great merits, the Jönköping couple of Peter Eisenschmidth and Jonas Gustafsson.

Best individually on the rather easy courses of MunktellArena was Peter Nordin (19,6). Four more players did also manage to get a blue average, Lars Brown (19,7), Erik Tiekstra (19,8), Daniel Johansson (19,9 ) and Jonas Gustafsson (19,9).

In total 49 couples played the 24 hour marathon this year.

Thanks a lot Pasi. Casper and I also thought it was nice to try a minigolf marathon. (you said it also was about time ;) ) And with Peppe and Larzza as coaches/mentors it was a great help to both of us. We are both very satisfied, but it would probably not have been the same without those guys - thanks a lot.

Forgot to point out yesterday one more performance. Mads and Freddy performed outstanding in their first ever minigolf marathon, not only in Eskilstuna but at all!!! OK, to have Larzza as coach is not the worst thing one could have, but you guys really both played well, especially Mads was fantastic!

Congratulations to Lars and Peter!
Also congratulations to many players for the great level of their game, expecially to:
- Peter Nordin for the best individual average
- Erik for the blue average ;)
- Jonas for the unbelievable game! 19,9 with 10 fails at laby! 2x18 and 3 more missed at last lane! Really impressive! But maybe laby to be improved... ;)

Hope to come to Eskilstuna next year, I really love this tournament!

Congratulations Larzza and Peppe, it's amazing how you keep on winning! I obviously missed an exciting finish, but am already only couple of hours from home now. Thanks again for another well organized comp. Always a pleasure to visit Eskilstuna.
