Changes to Swedish Mediaservices

Sweden 07 Mar 2010 at 12:13 | Published by: Hans | Views: 8898 | News search

Changes to Swedish Mediaservices The two main editors for the Swedish Minigolf Federation Magazine "Bangolf", Björn Dinau and Carl-Johan Spetz, is leaving their assignment. Björn and Carl-Johan has been the main editors of the magazine for the past two years and have been given lots of credits for their work on modernizing it.

They have also been working a lot with live coverage of competitions like the Swedish Championship and World Championship. They have been using new media’s like YouTube to publish videos and interviews and been seen to breaking new ground for Minigolf Media Coverage.

The reason for their resign is that they couldn’t get along with the Swedish Federation on their payment. The Swedish Federation has a long history of paying a amount in the area of 2000 Euro annually for the work acting as editors for "Bangolf". This sum was meant to pay one person, and when Björn and Carl-Johan decided to work together with this the amount was not adjusted. So Björn and Carl-Johan decided that their work was not valued enough to continue.

The two of them will also leave their positions in the Swedish Minigolf Federation Media Services Committee and leave Per-Olof Olsson alone in this Committee. Bengt Svensson, General Secratary , tells to Minigolfnews that the work of finding replacements for Björn and Carl-Johan has already begun, and any willing candidate can contact him. Bengt feels it’s a pity that Björn and Carl-Johan is leaving but the Swedish Federation have a though economical year coming in 2010 and could not agree on increasing the payment.

It is definitely a shame that Björn and Carl-Johan is leaving, I can understand them without any doubt. However I think there is a new editor already decided, but as I have not seen it official I will not name the person, but I recieved an email from this person asking me to write an article regarding the indoor season in Karlskoga and that is the way I know this

As a subscriber in Finland I would definately pay more for the subscription.

I can only agree Martin. Good media work is hard to find and is worth gold for a federation. I would have added 8 SEK on the 2500 subscribers of "Bangolf" to pay the extra 2000 Euros.

If SBGF can't pay, there are 100 clubs in Sweden. Would it be to much asked for each club to pay 200 Swedish crowns (20 Euro) to keep the 2 best media guys we had for years?
It's a shame anyway.....there should be ways to solve this but I feel no one has really tried to find a solution.
