One of two big American minigolf federations, the Professional Putters Association (PPA), has nominated Jay Klapper to enter the PPA Hall of Fame after the 2009 season. Klapper is the 42nd player of all time to receive this honour from PPA.

PPA has organized minigolf competitions since 1960 on Putt-Putt courses with a golf ball. The PPA Hall of Fame tradition was started in 1987, when Don Clayton and Vance Randall were nominated.

Jay grew up playing against stiff competition on the Atlanta, Georgia area Putt-Putt Golf Courses. Current PPA Hall of Famers Greg Ward, Lewis Burton, Alan Quinnelly and possible future Hall of Famer Andy Coradini are all Atlanta area players of Jay's generation. Jay has a pure putting stroke and his approach to the mental game is both unique and effective. When he gets on a roll, he can be nearly unbeatable. Congratulations are well deserved.
