This weekend a national tournament has been played on miniaturegolf course in Novi Ligure. It has been one of the "hottest" tournament ever played in Italy, with a temperature that reached 38°C and almost no wind at all.

The results were quite good anyway, even with this very difficult climatic conditions (players were using bags full of water instead of normal bags to keep the balls at a reasonable temperature).

Paolo Porta (MGC Novi Ligure) and Sara Marchiani (GSP Cusano) both won the overall men and ladies tournament with a total score of 79 strokes.
Paolo is quite used to this kind of "blue" results on his home course (he won the last two international tournaments played in Novi Ligure with 78 and 77 strokes); Sara has made something really special, collecting and destroying all the female course records (the older female record on 4 rounds on this course was 86).

Sara also setted the new italian overall female record on miniaturegolf: 3 rounds (59), 4 rounds (79).

Very good results also from a 2nd category player, Marco Faleppi (ASD Valdarno) that after having started with a normal 24, then played 20-18-19 ending with a total score of 81 strokes in 2nd overall male place.

Team tournament was won by ASDMC Follonica (team formed by Antonio Goiorani, Lorenzo Ciompi, Lorenzo Bellucci, Nicola Bellucci) with a total score of 353 strokes (22,1 avg) on GSP Cusano which was 2nd with 359 strokes . Home team MGC Novi Ligure could only get 3rd place ( 360 strokes) due to a negative day of Matteo Pirovano that ended with a modest 102, when he usually play under 90 in 4 rounds on his home course.

Next tournaments in Novi Ligure will be the "night individual marathon 12 hours" that will be played next 1st August, and the 6th Edition of international tournament "Città di Novi Ligure" that will be played next 12th September.

Next main event for italian minigolf will be the Italian Senior & Junior (individual + team) championships that will be played in Follonica next 17th-18th July.
