Today was the first day of three for the German Championships in Osnabrück- Wallenhorst. Its a hectic schema for the players since it shall be played 10 rounds eternit and beton on two days. This is followed by a double round on Saturday and finally KO-finals for the 8 best ladies and 16 bets men.
In the ladies class last year’s winner Nicole Warneke, Cuxhaven-Sahlenburg, showed from start that she will be in there for the medals this year also. She is followed closely by some other of the favorites Stefanie Kern, Nicole Gundert-Greiffendorf, Nicole Piechotta and Bianca Oberweg.
In the absence of some well known participants in the men's class like (Daniel Klosek , Marco Balzer, Alexander Geist and Marco Templin) a surprising player has gone to the top. Florian Weitz. Niendorfer MC, leads after especially strong play on the beton (24-25). He is hunted by a tight starting field with Achim Braungart-Zink, Lars Greiffendorf and Harald Erlbruch closest behind.
