September and October Feature Major Minigolf Events!

September and October are jam packed with major miniature golf events across the world. Below we highlight some of the biggest events and provide links to pertinent information if you want to find out more about and follow the events around these major events.

First up is the World Adventure Golf Masters (WAGM) which is one of the major World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) events. This event will be held September 11 - 12 at the Zaton Holiday Resort in Croatia. The WMF has a page dedicated to the event. On this page you can find information about the event, check out the schedule and participants, and follow the live scoring once the tournament starts. This tournament features play on an adventure style course, which is what most of us are used to playing on when we're out for a leisurely night of miniature golf. You'll find no windmills on this course however and the holes will be a challenge to even the best putters in the world.

While the WAGM players will be squaring off on the adventure course in Croatia, the first World Deaf Minigolf Championships, also a WMF event, will be held on the miniaturegolf course in Zaton. The WMF also has a
page dedicated to the event where you can find all of the same information that is there for the WAGM. This is a great event to show how the sport of minigolf is accessible to all people.

The other major worldwide event will take place a few days later in Zaton and it will be the overall World Championships. This is the biggest event on the international calendar and this year's roster includes over 150 participants. The
WMF page for this event has all of the standard information along with links to their YouTube page where you can check out complete videos of the courses to the played in the championships. These are miniaturegolf and felt courses which are more standard for international and European tournaments. They require precision, speed and proper ball choice to consistently get those aces as features in the videos. This will be the culmination of two amazing weeks of international play in Croatia.

In the United Sates, September sees the culmination of the Putt Putt tournament season with the National Championships the week of September 18-22, one of the most competitive and lucrative tournaments out there. You can check out the
Professional Putters Association page for more information on the tournament and their complete national tour. The National Championships is a 12 round tournament and boasts a $25,000 purse! This year's tournament will be held in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Also in the United States, October 12-14 brings the culmination of the USPMGA season with the Minigolf Masters held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This tournament is held on two courses (Hawaiian Rumble and Aloha) and has a purse of $20,000. Of course the winner gets the coveted green windbreaker! You can find out more at the
USPMGA page. This tournament often brings a lot of international names to it so the competition is always tough.

Finally there are a lot of great national and local competitions going on during these two months and on through until the end of 2017. We have as many as we know about posted on our
event page but if you know of some missing drop us a line and we'll try to get it added to the calendar.
