In case you missed Pat's blog, we're happy to announce that tonight, July 25th, at 8pm Eastern Time in the US, our editor Pat Sheridan will make his debut on ABC's Holey Moley. This show is a fun competition that pits physical and mental challenges together with some actual pressure putting to eliminate contestants across three rounds. The winner of each episode walks away with $25,000, a plaid jacket and a golden putter.
While this isn't the traditional miniature golf competition we're used to, its still great to see the sport highlighted on a major network in the United States. The competitors come from all walks of life and include pro players like Pat and Robin Ventura (who recently won two gold medals at the 2019 World Adventure Golf Masters), so there's some representation of the serious side of the sport.
We won't know exactly how much air time Pat will get during the hour show until it airs, but it will still be fun seeing the worldwide competitive minigolf community represented. We plan on having one post next week where Pat answers some of the questions he can about his episode in particular and then he's planning a longer blog post after the season about his whole experience. It's great exposure for the sport and who knows if we might see more (and more international) seasons in the future!
