Everythimg seems to be decided in the teams competition. Why play 3 days of team competition and then not counting the individual scores (more than to decide which are among the 32/16 best).\r\n\r\nWhy not play 2 days team, then day 3 you play a individual strokeplay final for the 48 best men/24 best women, then the KO system as it is today, the last day. The strokeplay could then be played over 2 combirounds.\r\n\r\nA simple change day 3, from team final, to individual strokeplay final, and then of course the 3 best of each category are awarded medals, just as in the KO-system.\r\n\r\nNo need to have 3 days team competition, better to use day 3 for the strokeplay World Championships final.

According to some public WMF documents from last winter, WMF Technical Committee is examining some possibilities how to change the format of team competition at major championships. Maybe they already have some basic idea, what they want to change, but they are usually not very talkative about their thoughts and ideas in public.

And it happens again.....the last man to qualify for the KO-final beats the number 1 ranked in the first round.\r\n\r\nSo, CJ Ryner is tied 17th in these championships......

Also Jessica R, 2nd in the ladies preliminary rounds, is out in round 1.\r\n\r\nAnd Anders Olsson, nr 2 in the mens prel. rounds is out in round 2.\r\n\r\nWhat an exciting final this will be, without the 2 best players in the mens category...thats a way to decide the best players of the world...

Select from this list:\r\n\r\n2009 juniors - seniors - general\r\n2008 juniors - seniors - general\r\n2007 juniors - seniors - general

Hans says that there were maybe 20 or 30 spectators in the audience at Fyn Arena (in addition to the players and coaches).\r\n\r\nLast year we had less than this \"outsider spectators\" in Tampere, but a few hundred minigolf freaks watching the live webcams.\r\n\r\nSuch sports are quite few, which get much more audience than the friends and relatives of players. But with sponsor contracts and good relations to television stations, some sports get millions of television viewers, even if nobody comes personally to watch the sport on site.
