It's easy to take the step as I haven't played in the past few years for personal reasons. My game is very rusty and I need repetitions in practice and especially competitions before I can expect anything. My goals this year are to play as much as possible, try hard on every putt, focus on process over results, and (most importantly) enjoy reconnecting with friends I haven't seen in a while. I've missed being out on tour and enjoy being back...even if Ward and others are (for the moment) lapping me.
Pierre, I hope you can make the WAGM event in mid-May. Should be a good time. Feel free to PM me to ask more about it.
Last time I was in England was for the 2002 British Open. Greatly enjoyed the time I spent with the British players, so making the trek this year is something I'm looking forward to.
+1 to Jeff and Tim's comments about those wanting to compete against the top Americans. They put on a display this weekend in changing conditions and 13-to-30 knot winds.
Agree with Ricard that the top players in Sweden can compete with the top PPA players with PPA rules. Why? Because they are used to competing against a large and talent-deep field; it sharpens the competitive edge of the players. Barring severe weather changes, learning the subtleties of one ball as the temperature and humidity changes on a course with similar properties to felt is feasible.
Courses can be built, coaches can be found, but to be the best of the best I think you need other top talent around you constantly making you better. Hope the hybrid tournaments catch on as this may be a way to squeeze the knowledge gap between newer and established WMF countries.

Which competition is that? At least no Elitserien like last year...
US Masters is in October as usual and US Open in July (if I remember correctly). | Askim concrete.. For me it's a important one since it's one out of 3 competitions (Askim, Skoghall and Elitserien Skoghall) that I'm able to play..

I could not find any such competiton in the Swedish calendar back then when looking for possible dates for WAGM and still can't. The only Askim concrete I find is in June. Is that some kind of national team qualifiying competition???

I would welcome the best Europeans to come play here. Hans Olofsson finished 3rd in 2004, Olivia tied for second two years back.
