I will say that most people openly share information about lines. It is common for me, with minimal experience out on the Virginia/Southern tour, to walk around the course(s) with people practicing and get a base set of information.
Might be worth grabbing a flip-cam and filming the Course #1 shots at Columbus during the regionals weekend. In addition to showing lines for the US players who can't make it to that event, it would perhaps eliminate some misconceptions about how MOS competitions look to those outside the US. (There are already some USPMGA events on-line, I think)

I know of no rule which requires anyone play a certain amount of tournaments. We have players who only play Nationals week. Any member of the PPA (just pay $75 USD) can play in the national Championship.
The best Europeans could do well over here. Hans Olofsson finished third in our 2004 Nationals and Olivia tied for second a couple years ago.

I am unaware of any discussion trying to make that a rule, and I am on the committee that makes those rules. Should such a rule come into place (which I don't see coming), I would lobby for exemptions for foreign players.

Then I probably be back some day to play the Nationals.
