In this moment I am on my way to Örebro and the first round of three in Elitserien. Beside this round we are also playing in Uppsala (june) and Jönköping (july). Örebro has felt as surface and is one of the hardest felt-lanes in Sweden.
Until last year the question to answer was: By how many points will Uppsala win? Will they even lose a single game?
Last year Skoghall won with Uppsala in second place. This is not to be considered as a complete surprise because Skoghall has a very strong team but Uppsala has been the team to beat in recent years.
Who is going to win this year? Well, I think that it will be a close race between Skoghall and Uppsala again. Uppsala do not want another second place. They want to be on top of the podium once again. Skoghall on the other hand will try to defend their title as champions and will not surrender without a fight.
The other teams? Well, of course there are other teams who want to put up a good fight. Tantogården wants to improve on their third position from last year and has a young and exciting squad. Tyresö has recruited players with experience from international Seniors championships and will most certainly improve their sixth position from the last season. Jönköping ended up as fifth last year and is a good solid team who are very consistent.
This year's rookies are Haga, Örebro and Kungälv. Örebro has the advantage of playing one round on their own lanes and need to play good there to stand a chance. Kungälv is back, once again, and will most certainly give the other teams something to about on the track with their everlasting fighting spirit.
And then there is my team, Haga. Our goal is to the end in a top-six position so that we can play in Elitserien next year as well. We will try to remember why we like this game, why we started to play. We think that this is a fun game and that's what we to achieve. Just have a good time and if we can achieve that... who knows... as we say in Sweden: Bollen är rund. Which translates into "Everything is possible"
Have a nice day!
