The final round 26 Jul 2017 at 20:37 | Posted in: General | Views: 2042 | Comments: 0

Hello!
This weekend we played the final round of Elitserien. For my team this weekend was close to a disaster because we won none of the seven matches. We were close to share a point with Örebro but lost with one stroke. The poor result for us this weekend means that we next year will be playing in division 1 (the second highest league).
It has been a fun experience playing in Elitserien, playing on the same course and with the same conditions as the top players.
My own performance of the last round was good but could have been a a lot better if I just would have continued with a good mental status like the one I had on Saturday. On Saturday I played world class minigolf and averaged 27,5 on 4 rounds on the new concrete course in Jönköping.
On Sunday, I started with a round of 30 which is a decent result but the last two rounds I failed big time. Why? Well, I want to blame the heat but I dan't blame anything on that. No, I....

SM-veckan 02 Jul 2017 at 22:03 | Posted in: General | Views: 1768 | Comments: 0

Tomorrow is the start of the Swedish Championships in minigolf. Like recent years we are a part of an event called SM-veckan. It is an event that gathers sports of all different kinds. Big sports like swimming and track & field compete at the same event as for example minigolf, skateboard and rugby (small sport in Sweden). This year, the event is held in Borås. A city known for rain, Elfsborgs IF (soccer team), Kappahl (clothes) and a big statue of Pinocchio.
I like this event a lot, it is a chance to experience sports that otherwise would not get the chance to shine on national television.
Since a few years back, minigolf is attending this event and ever since our presence the national television has broadcasted the final of the match play live.
Here you find a link to last years final: https://www.svtplay.se/video/8790750/sm-veckan/sm-veckan-bangolf-2
This year will remain the same. The swedish television will....

Round 2 of Elitserien 11 Jun 2017 at 21:48 | Posted in: General | Views: 1689 | Comments: 0

We are now more than halfway through the league, two out of three weekends has been completed. This time in Uppsala where the home team should be able to gain some points on Skoghall. Did they? No, in the last game of this round Skoghall managed to beat Uppsala by eight strokes and hold on to a four point lead.
One more conclusion after this weekend is that Örebro, Haga and Jönköping are the teams which fights to remain in Elitserien after this season.
Örebro had a rough weekend. They came to the competition without a coach and they are too far behind with only two points. They did not manage to take a single point this weekend.
Jönköping took six points and have reached a total of eight points. Haga (my club) also has eight points after winning two games this weekend. We managed to win against Örebro and Jönköping.
The best player this round was Aki Sillman in Kungälv who averaged 19,9. Well done Aki!

Impressions from round 1 15 May 2017 at 18:15 | Posted in: General | Views: 2007 | Comments: 0

Will the history from last year repeat itself? Well, it sure looks like it will.
Skoghall has a four point lead over Uppsala after the first round of Elitserien. It was enough last year but the next round will take place in Uppsala. Uppsala played 4 solid games on Saturday and started with a win on Sunday morning. After that they loosed two games in a row. First they lost to Kungälv (the surprise of the weekend) and they lost to Skoghall as well. It is not the start that they wanted but I am pretty sure that they will win all games in the next round.
Skoghall was undefeated which means that they won all seven games just like they did last year. And once gain they grabbed a four point lead. Their team looks strong and include names like Lars Kvael, Filiph Svensson, Ulf Kristiansson and Fredrik Tagesson to name a few of their players.
But the team of the weekend was without a doubt Kungälv. They won 5 games (including one against Uppsala). I am the....

Elitserien 2017 10 May 2017 at 17:32 | Posted in: General | Views: 2405 | Comments: 0

In this moment I am on my way to Örebro and the first round of three in Elitserien. Beside this round we are also playing in Uppsala (june) and Jönköping (july). Örebro has felt as surface and is one of the hardest felt-lanes in Sweden.
Until last year the question to answer was: By how many points will Uppsala win? Will they even lose a single game?
Last year Skoghall won with Uppsala in second place. This is not to be considered as a complete surprise because Skoghall has a very strong team but Uppsala has been the team to beat in recent years.
Who is going to win this year? Well, I think that it will be a close race between Skoghall and Uppsala again. Uppsala do not want another second place. They want to be on top of the podium once again. Skoghall on the other hand will try to defend their title as champions and will not surrender without a fight.
The other teams? Well, of course there are other teams who want to put....

Well well well. Today I have made the first practice round of this year. The first one outdoor that is. Here in Sundsvall the weather was windy and + 8 degrees (celsius). Not the best weather for minigolf but when you live in the north of Sweden you can not afford to be picky. Especially not when the outdoor season is knocking at the door.
This year will bring a lot of new challenges to me. I will for the first time participate in Elitserien (the top league in Sweden) with a new team, Haga BGK :)
I am looking forward to these challenges and I hope that I will develop as a minigolfer during this year. During this year you can follow my progress here and I will make my best to share my experiences and thoughts with you.
Have a nice weekend ;)
