Dear Minigolf Friends in this blog post I will try to do a short analyze of 2009 in the Portuguese minigolf and in my minigolf player life side.
This year happened in Portugal for the first time the SEC. It was organized in Lamego, where in 2000 the WMF staff consider to happened the best organization JEM until that time. In 2009 some problems may happened with the organization but the sportive part was incredible. With a new and easy concrete course, some world records were beaten, the Italian men team won once again (with a huge support of the Portuguese people) and the Swiss players showed great skills in matchplay part of the game. The Portuguese team was successful too, In the way that the objectives were achieved. I was part of that new experience (for the first time Portugal had a team of senior players) being coach of the team. It was nice but risky to choose 3 coaches with less than 20 years old to coordinate a senior team but in the end I think that no one regretted.... Read more »

During the last two years i have been developing the website of my team. It is not a true website but a hybrid system, between a website and a blog. It is easy to manage and has some freedom of layout.

One of the subtitles there is one named "Interviews", which was thought to host some interviews of players of my team. But after the first interviews I understood that it was not just one more part of the website but "the part". Why? Because the majority of the people go there just to read the interviews. Even people that are not professional players send me e-mails to know more about the sport after reading them.

So, I decided to look for International players to interview. I started with Tim Hansson, that I know from Pombal 2005, than Pirovano and Reinhard Nietzke, friends of Victor Condeço. In Budapest I met Omar and Bernd in Budapest and then Anders and Sandra in Hilzingen,

Hello minigolf players of the world…
My name is André Campos and I am since yesterday the Portuguese reporter of minigolf news. I have participated in some youth international competitions and in the last Europacup.
I think that is important to tell you something about Portugal as it is a small nation in what concerns to minigolf. Portugal has more a less a hundred active players and the majority are from the North of the country. The biggest club is CM Porto which represents approximately 35% of the Portuguese players. It is the team with more titles, as in the pass it was very difficult to beat them. Nevertheless, in the present, MC Portugal won the last 5 team national championships, being defeated by CM Porto this year in CM Porto’s course.
Here, the national individual championship is much more important in general than teams’ competition and it is played in three weekends of six rounds each. The winner is the one with fewer strokes in the end of the eighteen.... Read more »
