The best competition of the year is just around the corner. With only one and a half day until I get into the taxi in the middle of the night (0435) to get to the airport it's still a lot to take care of.
Today I've used my breaks to the max. During the morning break I printed out the form with the lineup (5 different pre-printed and 1 empty) and made the layout for the putting plan. The lunch break was used to buying a First Aid kit (we seem to need it....), new wallet for the club cash and to exchange a pile of cash to put in the wallet. That brings us to the afternoon break and the printing of the maps to get from Schwechat to the hotel and to the course. Maybe I should've done all this earlier, but I simply haven't found time for it until today. In addition to all this I have managed to collect 650+ balls from the Post office and also packed the club utility bag.
I started my own packing yesterday and found out that vacuum packing bags are great!! You can fit a lot more clothes into the suitcase, unfortunately that also brings the weight up a bit. It's a good thing we don't have any ball containers (just one small for the Uppsala 2010s) with us, maybe I can get away with the heavier bag. As usual Pölder or Micke will have a the heaviest bag, but this year I won't be far behind.
It seems that Vienna will greet us with traditional EC-weather. Maximum 15 degrees and rain. It is supposed to rain from noon on Saturday until Sunday evening! That's great! The only positive in that we're playing on felt this year and it doesn't matter that much if it rains. At least the weather forecast looks ok for the rest of the stay. 12-20 degrees and partly cloudy.
With any luck and a good internet connection I can post some more blogs during our stay in Vienna.
I will end this post with a note regarding our team. We're coming to Vienna with 7 players and no coach. The players are Lars Brown, Marcus Larsson, Jens Näslund, Mikael Ohldén, Thomas Pölder, C-J Ryner and Anders Wiklund.
Missing a name? If you're not, then you must have lived in a cave for the last 5 years. For the first time since he switched from Tantogården to Uppsala, Anders Olsson will not play the EC for us. He's at home with Karin caring for their newborn daughter Stella. Our ladies team of 2025 and on will consist of three young (16, 16 and 15 years old) and bright stars. Ellen (middle name Sirius), Nova and now Stella. Maybe their parents closing in on 50 will be playing in the competition as well. :D
Speaking of daugthers; time to get home to mine.
