Yes, you have read in the news Erik wrote about the Dutch League. How is this possible?
For that, we have to go back in the history.
In the Netherlands were in the sixties end seventies two different minigolf federations: for each system was a seperate federation and both were licensed to the IBGV (now WMF). Each federation had their own clubs and they played only on their own system and organised their own competition.
Players who wanted to play on both systems had to be member of two different clubs. In 1980 both minigolf federations started to work together and they made one federation. The clubs stayed at their own system and played their own competition. So the players had still to go to an other club if the players wanted to play the other system and at the moment that is still the case.
The board made regulations for this system. Players can still play for two digfferent clubs because the competitions are not played on the same time. On eternite the competition is played on sunday. On concrete there are differnt days to play, in two districts they play on saturday, in one district they play on tuesday and in the last district they play on thursday.
For the national championships the players can only participate for their homeclub. All other matches they can play for their homeclub or the other club.
Besides these two federations, there was and still is an other federation which plays minigolf and they have there own rules. We hope that we can pickup this federation also in our federation.
