In part 6 our series of re-posts of the youth interviews from the WMF Youth Facebook page, we have an interview with Jasmin Hansson an individual gold medalist from YWC 2014 along with other medals in youth events. In case you missed the fifth in the series, you can catch it here. The following interview can also be found here.

Club: Asarums Bangolfklubb
Birth year: 1998

Q1: How and when did you start to play Minigolf?

JH: Some of my siblings started to play minigolf around 2005 and after several years of watching them play, I also wanted to start playing. So, in 2008 were my official starting year of playing minigolf.

Q2: What club do you use when you play and what is your favourite ball?

JH: I'm playing with a Nifo Ryner club and my favourite ball have to be 3D BOF SwM 2008 Jessica Rengbrandt.

Q3: What surface do you prefer the most? Follow-up question: Do you have a personal best (PB) that you are particularly proud of?

JH: I prefer to play on miniature and that's probably because my club did build an indoor minigolf course some years ago. So, I have been able to practice quite a lot on miniature. I'm very proud of my round of 24 on concrete, which I did play during the YEC 2017 in Askim (Sweden).

Q4: Have you ever had a role model you looked up to during your early years? Maybe this person still is an inspiration for you today?

JH: During my early years I did look up to Karin Olsson. She is one of the most impressing and inspiring women in Sweden and in the world as well. It is still an inspiration to see her play and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to play together with her in the Swedish team in Zaton, Croatia.

Q5: What is your biggest merit within Minigolf? (Doesn’t need to be related to competition)

JH: I would say it is my individual strokeplay gold medal at the YWC in Lahti 2014.

Q6: What is your best/strongest memory from your years being a youth player?

JH: I have a very strong memory of playing the YEC in Ostrava 2015. When my team did win the gold medal and I can just say that I'm so proud of them all, that they did fight the whole tournament and never gave up.

Last Question: What is it about Minigolf that makes it so special?

JH: It is a small sport if we would compare it with football or ice hockey. But the players fighting spirit is not smaller due to that. We all have our own goals within minigolf that we want to reach. Some wants just to play with their family during summer sometimes, some wants to practice becoming better and maybe win a tournament at national level and some wants to become a world champion one day. Every person may have different goals, but we are still a minigolf family and that is what makes it so special.
