After reading AceManīs latest blog i am very disturbed! Are we really that narrow minded that we cant accept that \"smaller\" nations shows up in Big competitions? And another question, can we afford treating these nations like that?! In my eyes itīs just great that \"new\" nations shows up and enjoys our wonderful game. We dont need narrow minded people if this sport gonna survive.\r\n\r\nTell me how you see it.\r\n\r\nThis is the blog post i am talking about.\r\n\r\nhttp://www.minigolfnews.com/index.php?p=blogdetail&aliasid=67&id=29

We all have met some big persons, who want to fly a bit over the other players.\r\n\r\nBut the less serious players, especially those who are ranked lower than 50th in competitions, seem to welcome and understand each other quite well.\r\n\r\nI think this is true for British players too: they may see a few arrogant divas in competitions, but also many people who want to be good friends with everyone.

And by the way I think it was Hans who highlighted the plight of minor nations, more ably and succinctly than I, in his blog.

well - it is not easy when people with differnt thinking come together ...\r\n\r\nWhen coming back from winning the Nationscup 2008 (which was a big deal for the austrians), wmfīs brand new media manager told me that britains where a little bit upset about Austrians.\r\n\r\nBIG SURPRISE for me - because I thought there was not much contact and also no problems at all. It turned out that some of the GB-Players had the feeling, we (Austrians) were too much focused on our selves. Not even saying hello and so on. Mmmhh - might be true. Austrian minigolf federation spend a lot of money so send us to Tampere. So I personally see it as a duty to get the best out of a competition. For Europ. Champ. and for NC itself. And winning it, was really big fun. Everybody could see that.\r\nMaybe it looked like boring shit - not drinking beer on the course after a practise day. OK - I am a minigolf freak. \r\n\r\nNevertheless I always say how important it is to have a lot of players from different countries. I makes my beloved sport even more important. It is also great, when new players arrive and even greater it gets when you see improvement. Like e.g. the russians. There was my first round in tampere my russion flight partner scored a 29 on beton, with very good and skillfull shots. I managed 28 and third came in Daniel Klosek 31. I tight match. That is great, isnīt it. I changed shirt with this talent. Or Jon Angel in Canegrate. In the last round I think he scored 22 on eternit. He would have been a big reinforcement for the Austrian team, which I told him also ...

Laughing is indeed something I have had to put up with as well. No fun but there is a cure for it.. beat some of them! Laughing tends to subside then...

Okay, so an Austrian person (coach) acted arrogantly.\r\n\r\nAll countries have some nice and some less nice individuals. All individuals have some nice days, and some less nice days. All nice days have some nice moments, and some less nice moments...\r\n\r\nActing \"proud\" can sometimes be actually extreme shyness.

OK now the picture is getting more clear.\r\n\r\nSo the Austrian coach acted badly at a German player.\r\n\r\nAnd you, as an outsider in the situation, felt deep empathy about the poor German player. Oh poor little Harald.\r\n\r\nGood to get the facts clear.

i dont know what happen at NC but its not about who, but that cheating is cheating and nobody is allowed to do it.\r\nalot off the things i see when i am WM,EM,NM and NC, if you do that in Denmark you would not play 1/2 a turnement, before you was send out off the turnement but i also think we are a bit hard about that in Denmark.\r\ni also belive that we have to be open for all the new nations in minigolf and i really hope to see them at turnements.

Now I am really confused!\r\nHarald at Nations Cup? Harald who? At least Harald Erlbruch didnīt play nations cup. Maybe it was Walter? Which would be new to me. I had a long talk with walter at the closing ceremony. We chated about the \"battle\" a few hours before, but no words for this.\r\n\r\nNow I am interested: What happend really? You can also send me an PM!

ahh - I did not scroll down - you already noticed you are wrong.\r\n\r\nMaybe it was Bernd Schaller doing something? You should know the know each other quite well. So you maybe got it wrong? The rest of our coaches there - I would say they arenīt good for gamemanship ...
