Not surprisingly the U23-Challenge tournament, played on the tough felt course in the Munkell Arena in Eskilstuna Sweden, is dominated by the home teams from Sweden.
Both the Swedish Teams are leading their groups without any lost matches so far. In the first group Team Sweden 1 won all matches and was never in any real danger. Second in that group was Germany 1 with only one lost match.
In the second group Sweden 2 won all matches and second in that group on 4 points (same as Austria 2 and Germany 2) but with best stroke results was Finland.
Tomorrow the semifinals will be played between Sweden 1 and Finland and in the second semifinal Sweden 2 will meet Germany 1.
Individually best is the young debut player from Eskilstuna Derice Shomilov Susoho (29,5). He was called in late as a substitute in the Swedish Team and has so far really proven worthy his nomination. Second best is a somewhat more known player, Filip Svensson (29,8), with internationally known skills on the felt surface. Another debutant in Sweden Anders Roswall has also shown really good results and shares third place with Thomas Öberg on 31,5 average.
Best among the girls are Austria’s Karin Heschl with 36,5 followed by Switzerlands Maja Wicki on 36,8.
