March means time for the annual Danish Matchplay in Odense, Denmark.
The indoor arena at Minigolfklub Putter Team Odense hosted the tournament; witch is a combination of both strokeplay and matchplay.
Mads Nørregaard (Putter Team Odense) took the honors in the A-category after 5 intense rounds of strokeplay with a score of 100. 1 stroke ahead and Udo Ratje (Niendorf) and Klaus Jensen (Gelsted).
The B-category was won by Trym Sharff (Broager) won with a score of 115. He won if front of Torben Fjordvang (AMK) and Karin Stelter (Niendorf).
After the strokeplay Top 16 in both categories went through, it was time for matchplay. Its always exiting to play head to head because its impossible to predict the outcome.
The final in B was a match between Trym Sharff (Broager) and Peter Wichmann (Niendorf)
It looked like a Danish victory until lane 18, where Mr. Wichmann showed to have the best nerves.
The final in the A-category was a real treat for all spectators. Jan Lyø (PTO) and Gaby Ramlow found themselves head to head for the title. It was a really close and wellplayed final. The decision came on lane 16 (window) Jan missed and made 2, but Gaby got a 3 on the card and thereby lost the lane. 2 aces on the last 2 lanes secured the victory for Jan Lyø.
Last but not least we would like to thank all 55 players who came from both Denmark and Germany and took part in Danish Matchplay 2011.
