The second weekend of German Bundesliga turned into a thriller,
as five teams were within a few points in the last round
of men’s competition.
MGC Dormagen-Brechten was the sovereign winner of the competition,
but all other teams had a chance for anything between 2nd and 6th place
during the last round.
BGS Hardenberg-Pötter visited the bottom of score table during the last round,
but then came back into the game, and survived as the winner of the clash between
five teams, taking the second place and 8 valuable league points.
MGC Mainz landed third (one point behind Hardenberg), and now shares
the lead of Bundesliga with Dormagen-Brechten.
Women’s league started with a clean table, as the scores of
the first weekend had been cancelled. MGC Mainz took again the first place
(as in the cancelled competition), but Göttingen passed Neutraubling
to catch the second place. Olching landed again on fourth place,
and Bensheim-Auerbach beat Uerdingen to take the fifth place.

Some of the biggest names of German minigolf have found themselves at the
wrong end of score table in the two first competitions of German Bundesliga 2008.
Daniel Klosek landed on the second-last place in the first competition at the felt course of Leipzig.
In this second competition at the eternite course of Göttingen,
Walter Erlbruch was literally “the last man standing” (together with Czech
superstar Karel Molnár) — and the rest of the lower end of score table
was occupied by national team members Achim Braungart-Zink, Alexander Geist and Marco Templin.
