Blue average for Paolo Porta at the 31. Südtirol Trophae in Lana

Blue average for Paolo Porta at the 31. Südtirol Trophae in Lana The historical miniaturegolf course in Lana (Südtirol) hosted las weekend the 31st edition of the Südtirol Trophae.
108 players coming from Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden took part in this event. The players were divided in two groups that played 4 round qualifications (Group A on Saturday, Group B on Sunday). After that, the best 40% of each category played 2 more final rounds.

The weather has been very nice for all the tournament but very cold during the morning rounds: the first round on Saturday has been played with +0.5°C and it was very difficult for all players to have the balls in right temperature.

Anyway the tournament showed some very good results and expecially the big performance by Paolo Porta (M.G.C. Novi Ligure) which managed to finish the 6 rounds with a blue average of 19.8 (119 strokes). Despite a 22 in the first rounds, where also Paolo suffered a little bit from the cold temperature (but less than other players), he then played a sequence of 19-20-19-20-19 that gave him a victory with big margin on all the other opponents: 2nd place on the elite men category for Roland Mittelberger (MV Algund) with 129 strokes and 3rd place for Andreas Dall'Acqua (SSV Naturns), the winner of week before tournament in Naturns, with 130 strokes. For Paolo this is the third victory in the Sudtirol Trophae elite category after those in 2007 and 2010.

The second best individual result has been setted by the youth home player Hannes Laimer, that won his category with a very good score of 127 strokes. He beated Fabian Schupfer (SSV Naturns), second with 131 strokes and the european vice-champion Lorenzo Levis (GSP Vergiate), third with 135 strokes.

There had been also a 18 round played in this tournament, the first ever 18 round played on this course by a female player: it was made by Ingrid Szeiler (BGC Wien) who was also the winner of the elite ladies category with a total of 141 strokes, same than Paola Tecchio (MC Follonica) which was beaten at the playoff.

The team event has seen a very close match between the three Südtiroler clubs, with SSV Naturns winning by just 4 strokes on MV Algund and 7 on the home team of SV Lana.

The winners of the other categories are:
- Karl Lakos (WAT 21 - A) on the Senior male II with 133 strokes
- Sieglinde Geier (1 KMGC Klagenfurt - A) on senior female II with 141 strokes
- Franz Marmsoler (MGC Siusi - I) on senior male I with 133 strokes
- Maria Fuschlberger (1. SMC Liefering - A) on senior female I with 136 strokes
- Patrick Gois (MGC Reineck - CH) on schoolboys with 141 strokes
- Valentina D'Amico (MGC Novi Ligure - I) on youth female with 161 strokes.

Next weekend, the last tournament of the Sudtiroler minigolf autumn will be played on brand new miniaturegolf course in Algund, where also a new and very nice feltgolf course has just been realized.
