The first adventure minigolf competition in the history of Finnish Minigolf Federation was played on 31 July 2011
at Pirate Adventure Golf in Jaala, 150 km north-east of Helsinki. The competition was played at a traditional
British / American style adventure golf course, using WMF MOS rules and an unlimited set of minigolf balls.
16 players arrived to the event, but all highest level players of the country stayed away this time.
Victory in the 4-round competition went to Petri Tossavainen, a devout adventure golf enthusiast,
with total score 172 (average 43.00),
some 5 points per round over what can be expected from top players at this minigolf course.
Harry Grönlund was second, two points behind Tossavainen, and Tero Vaahtio was third, one point
behind Grönlund.
Also Denmark is having its first adventure golf event this season, with a tournament on 13 August that carries
a Danish Championship status, and enjoys a lot of economical support from the Danish Minigolf Union.
