Girls Take Charge at XII Russia Youth Championships

The Russia Youth Championships 2016 (U19) took place in Samara on 18-hole miniature course on May 6th-8th, 2016. There was a total of 27 participants (17 boys/10 girls) who competed in 12 rounds over the 3 days. Yulia Korytina won the girls division and had the overall lowest score of any participant, barely edging Polina Mogilevskaya by 1 stroke in the final round. For the boys, Evgeny Slivko was the winner.
Per Golf.ru article (full article linked below in Russian with pictures and video): Throughout the 10 main and the final two rounds of the girls and boys, it was a tight race for first place. While two girls immediately broke from the pack, after almost every round there was a new leader for the boys. Everything was decided in the final round for both the girls and the young men, by a margin of just one point. Overall the tournament was called "enchanting" by the sports tournament director.

1) Yulia Korytina (St Petersburg) - 24.1 avg, 289 total.
2) Polina Mogilevskaya (Moscow) - 24.2, 290
3) Elene Sukonnikova (Tolyatti) - 27.2, 326
Boys:
1) Evgeny Slivko (Moscow) - 25.2 - 302
2) Timur Ramazanov (Samara) - 25.3 - 303
3) Leonid Cheshkov (Moscow) - 25.5 - 306.
The best players will be included into the Youth National team to participate in the Youth World Championships 2016 in Bischofshofen in August this year.
