The first mini golf tournament of the year in the US is in the books at The Red Putter Miniature Golf in North Ephraim (Wisconsin)!
Nicholas Kwaterski keeps his title as Frostbite Open Champion with a two-round score of 90. Nick, from Wisconsin Rapids, took home the 1st place trophy, $700 cash and a Red Putter hat. Nick holds the most Frostbite trophies; he also won in 2012, 2014 and 2016.
In second place with a two-round score of 91 was Cal Lautenbach of Fish Creek. Matthew Kraus, of Menomonee Falls, took the third place trophy with a score of 92.
This was the seventh annual Frostbite Open, held on New Year's Day at The Red Putter Mini Golf. With the sun shining and a temperature of 30 degrees, this was the nicest weather for the Frostbite Open which drew a total of 54 players. All but 3 players finished both rounds. The course was icy and scores were high. Erik Emanuelson had the lowest single round of 43.
The next tournament will be The Red Putter Pro Tournament on Saturday, August 5th. You can see our article on last years Red Putter tournament here.
