Zhouzhaung, China – On October 23 through 27, 2019, the biannual Minigolf World Championships will take place on the felt and concrete courses at Invego IOT Business Park. Over 250 participants, including coaches and officials, from 26 countries will compete in this year’s World Championships. You can see the full list of countries and competitors here.

The following categories will be available for medals during the competition:
- General Class Men’s individual stroke-play and match-play
- General Class Women’s individual stroke-play and match-play
- Men’s national team stroke-play
- Women’s national team stroke-play
- Mixed pairs mixed stroke-play

Official training for the groups started on October 18th and the team/individual competition rounds begin with 3 rounds on October 23rd. The team competition will end on October 24th after 3 more rounds. The individual stroke play competition will conclude on October 25th with 2 more rounds for all competitors and then 2 final rounds for the top competitors after a cut. The scores through 8 rounds will also determine the top 32 men and 16 women who will compete in the match-play finals later in the weekend. Saturday, October 26th will see the mixed pairs competition with qualifying rounds in the morning and the final rounds, after a cut, in the afternoon. The mixed pairs features alternate tee, alternate shot format, similar to that introduced at the World Adventure Golf Masters (WAGM) earlier in the year. Finally, competition wraps up on Sunday, October 27th with the individual match-play finals which will be played over a combination of felt and concrete holes.

Results of all the divisions can be found
here on the official World Championship’s page. You can also follow along with pictures and media at the World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) Facebook page. The previous World Championships was held in Croatia in September 2017 and you can look back at that event through our article. Stay tuned for the final results and good luck to everyone competing.

The World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) is the umbrella organization of 63 Minigolf sports associations worldwide with Continental Associations in Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Over 1,000 championships courses are approved for official competitions and over 1,500 international minigolf tournaments are held each year. Millions of players all around the world like to play minigolf as a private leisure activity and in public competitions.
