Last Weekend the second round of the Austrian Bundesliga was played at the miniature indoor course in Eferding (Upper Austria). The overall leading team of MSC Steyr continued their excellent play of the starting round in Krems and won the first 4 matches in an impressive way.
On the other side the big competitor, WAT 21 couldn´t reach the level of the Steyr team and won only 1 of the 4 matches (against the youth team). The other 3 matches ended all in very exiting draws!
So the last match of the day between Steyr and W.A.T.21 was again the showdown and maybe could have been a pre-decision for the season. It was the expected close fight and finally the boys from Vienna had the better end on their side. Was it the experience of winning 9 titles in the last 10 years? Maybe a little bit too much pressure on the Steyr shoulders? Fact ist that WA.T.21 played their best round (130), Steyr their worst one (133). But it´s also fact, that Steyr gained 8 points in Eferding, W.A.T. 21 only 7. So the situation in overall is nearly still the same as before.
It was also a surprisingly strong weekend for the team of Bischofshofen collecting 7 points and reaching 3rd place at this competition. What a comeback after the disappointing start in Krems in September.
The teams of Gänserndorf and BGC Wien finished with only 3 points each. Also worth mentioning is maybe that BGC Wien lost with a horrible round (164) against the youth team (154), coming to their first points in history due to this.

In the ladies competition the expected tight situation between Vöslau/Gänserndorf and Union Rotgold continues. Both teams won their matches against Igls in an easy way and lost one against the ladies from Linz Lissfeld. So the matches against each other had to bring the decision – and here the girls from Vöslau/Gänserndorf were the better ones this weekend.
A clear victory on Saturday (67 : 79) followed by a thrilling draw in the last round on Sunday secured important points for defending the title. With 1 point less Linz Lissfeld finished on place two followed by Rotgold and Igls.
In overall the situation on the ladies side is quite the same as in the mens side. 2 teams are fighting at the top of the table (Vöslau/Gänserndorf and Rotgold) and then there´s a big margin to the rest.
