CM Porto takes it all

Portugal 08 May 2013 at 10:11 | Published by: agcampos | Views: 11666 | News search

CM Porto takes it all Last weekend, the course where the last European Championship took place received the Portuguese National Teams' Championship. With a perfect weather (temp. around 25 degrees and no wind) everything was set for a perfect weekend of minigolf, and, in the end, the CM Porto's players could say that the weekend was perfect times 6.

After 7 rounds of miniature golf for the Men and Ladies categories, and 7 rounds of minigolf for the Oldtimers, Senior, Junior and Youth categories, the national champions were found, but with an historical mark, the home team, CM Porto, won all the categories and took its Men B team to the podium with an honorable 3rd place.

If in the Senior, Oldtimers, Junior and Ladies there was not a big mark in history, as in some of them the difference was higher than one hundred strokes for the second place, it was a whole nother story when it came to the Men and Youths categories.

In the Men's category, CM Porto took the lead immediately after the first round and won the first five rounds in a row. André Silva was the star of the first day with an average of 20,25 in the first 4 rounds and Fernando Carvalho brought joy to the second day, starting with a 19. In the end, the difference between the first and the second places (MC Portugal) was 24 strokes.

In the Male Youths, after 21 rounds, the difference was just 3 strokes between the gold and silver medals. Although the boys from Porto led the last 3 rounds and won the competition, in the first day Vizelgolfe's team was taking control of the match, with a great tournament of Tiago Bastos, being the only player of this category playing a green average.

Written in history, stays the homogeneity of CM Porto, having won all the categories for the first time in Portuguese minigolf's history, and the name of the winners:

Men: 1 - CM Porto A - André Silva; Pedro Carvalho; Fernando Carvalho; André Campos; Eduardo Salazar; Ricardo Miguel; Tiago Pinto
2 - MC Portugal
3 - CM Porto B

Ladies: 1 - CM Porto - Fernanda Costa; Sónia Fontes; Juventina Silva; Gracinda SIlva
2 - Vizelgolfe A
3 - Vizelgolfe B

Male Youths: 1 - CM Porto - Pedro Cruz; Bernardo Silva; Fábio Lima
2 - Vizelgolfe A
3 - Vizelgolfe B

Male Junior: 1 - CM Porto A - Luís Silva Jr.; André Machado; Fábio Vitor; Carlos Teixeira
2 - MC Lamego

Senior: 1 - CM Porto A - Armindo Costa; António Pinto; Sebastião Campos; Luís Pinto
2 - CM Porto B
3 - Vizelgolfe B

Oldtimers: 1 - CM Porto - Carlos Paulo; Joaquim Oliveira; José Sousa; José Teixeira
2 - Vizelgolfe
