The official season has been over since quite some weeks, but they keep playing tournaments in the Netherlands. Minigolf during the winter in the Netherlands is hard because there are not many indoor courses available. Also this weekend there were plenty of tournaments to choose from, this time with sunny weather but with temperatures around freezing point.

Leeuwarden
Altough not many players were present to play the first aces tournament of MGC Leeuwarden, some players with international experience were present. Under icy conditions a total of 5 rounds were played where players are allowed to play only one shot on each lane and where only the aces will count. At the end it was Erik Tiekstra (Tantogårdens BGK - Sweden) who won the tournament with a total of 55 aces. Just 1 ace more then Annie Jasper of MGC Leeuwarden. Alex Jasper (MGC Dormagen-Brechten - Germany) and Eppie Paulusma (MGC Appelscha) tied on 3rd place with a total of 48 aces.

Doorwerth
In Doorwerth (MGV DUNO) it was time for already the third of many tournaments in the winter. There were a total of 32 players present to try to defy the cold weather. The Klarenbeek family showed their opponents why they have a big name in Minigolf. Roland Klarenbeek (MGC Geldrop) played the astonishing score of 62 in 3 rounds (19-21-22). With that result he won the tournament just 3 shots ahead of his wife - Natasja Klarenbeek (MGC Geldrop).

In the overall standing** in all tournaments Toon ter Keurs (MGV DUNO) is in the lead in the men's category. Kees v/d Peppel (EMG de Putters) climbed to the 2nd place and Wilbert van Helmond (MGV DUNO) is 3rd.
In the women's category Natasja Klarenbeek is enjoying a solid lead with over 30 shots. She is followed by Elly Mulder (MGC de Ploegers) and Janny Overdijk (MGV DUNO).

Next tournament in Doorwerth is at the 11th of January 2009.
