World-class beton specialist Rudi Giroldini took gold at Italian championships 2008, with average score 29.14 at the not too easy beton course of his own club team GSP Vergiate.

Silver went to another veteran giant of Italian minigolf, Francesco Leuci, who lost to Giroldini by 3 points, with average 29.57. Bronze was taken by Michele Graffeo, one point behind Leuci, with average score 29.71.

The second best average in the competition, 29.20, was played by Ivan Baruscotti, a citizen of Switzerland. He did not continue the competition after 5 preliminary rounds, probably because of his non-Italian nationality.

Anna Bandera won gold in women’s competition with a margin over ten points, with average score 30.71. Silver was taken by Antonella Flamini, and bronze by Monica Dardi.

The local club GSP Vergiate won men’s team competition quite easily, with a margin of 31 points ahead of MCG Novi Ligure on silver. GSP Lozza took bronze, after a tied score and play-off against MC Monza. In women’s team competition gold went to MC Monza, silver to Cusano / Aponense, and bronze to Lozza / Paderno.
