Uppsala BGK won all its matches on the second weekend of
Swedish Elitserien, played at the beton course of Askim BGK in Göteborg, Sweden.
Uppsala now leads the league by 8 points,
and will quite certainly renew their champion title of last year.
The third and last weekend of the league season will be played on 6–7 September 2008.
The fight for silver medals — and the right to participate in European Cup 2008
as the second Swedish team — will be extremely tight between four teams,
which are within three league points only: Jönköping (18), Tantogården (16),
Skoghall (15) and Kungälv (15).
The best players at the beton course of Askim were Anders Olsson
(average 27.86),
Linus Sundström (28.00)
and Karin Wiklund (28.00).
Swedish Elitserien is a league for mixed teams of 5 + 2 male or female players.
Only three women have played in Elitserien teams during this season:
Karin Wiklund and Charlotte Ryner for Uppsala BGK, and Sandra Weaver for BGK Jönköping.
Rose-Marie Lönnqvist was nominated for
the team of Tantogården BGK in Askim, but did not play any competition rounds.
