Thriller when Uppsala won double

Sweden 16 Feb 2009 at 11:12 | Published by: Hans | Views: 7727 | News search

Thriller when Uppsala won double This weekend the A-Group played their annual Team-Play competition at MunktellArenan Felt Course. This indoor felt course where the EuropaCup was played in 2007 is known to be quite demanding, but the results this weekend where higher than usual. The 8 teams meet in a 5-man match play over the weekend in a round robin schema where all ends up playing 7 matches.

On top was maybe not surprising Uppsala BGK Team 1, but it was closer than you might imagine. Uppsala BGK Team 2 had also had 12 points and 1153 strokes, same as Uppsala 1, but was put in second place due to a loss in their internal meetings. Also a third team Örebro BGK had 6 wins and only one loss ending up in 12 points. They where send to third place due to 7 strokes worse 1160 strokes even if they where the only team beating the winner from Uppsala 1.

The top 3 standings:

Uppsala 1 6 0 1 1153 12
Uppsala 2 6 0 1 1153 12
Örebro 6 0 1 1160 12

Best in Uppsala 1 and also best overall was as many times before Carl-Johan Ryner at an average of 28,0 . Second best was Magnus Westerberg of Tyresö BGK at an average of 28,7 . After this no more persons where achieving a blue average. One interesting results was made by Örebro player Robert Gustafsson in the last round, where he played a round of 23 containing no less than 15 aces.

On differnt surfaces the colors code how well you have done. Best = Blue, Good = Green, Normal = Red and Bad = Black. The rule is according to following.

Felt
Blue = 29 or lower
Green = 30 to 35
Red = 36 to 39
Black 40 and above

Eternit
Blue = 19 or lower
Green = 20 to 24
Red = 25 to 29
Black = 30 or higher

Concrete
Blue = 24 or lower
Green = 25-29
Red = 30-35
Black 36 or higher
