Veteran player Allan Luoto, one of the 1980’s legends of Finnish minigolf, still keeps winning national competitions in his home town Turku. Last summer he won the cup finals of Jussin Kisat, one of the most notable felt competitions in Finland. On 29 March 2009 Allan Luoto won the Teamgolf competition at the indoor felt course of Veritas Stadium, Turku, together with his pair Tomi Aunio.
Luoto and Aunio played average score 26.00 in the "Teamgolf" competition, where the pair can choose which of the two players plays each lane. If the first player makes a big mistake, the second player can decide to play the same lane and try to get a better score. (The number of these correction attempts is limited, so it is not always wise or possible to correct a bad lane score.)
Ari Åman and Tommi Lantta from Helsinki were second in the Teamgolf competition, with average 26.50. Local players Kari Linnanketo and Jari Haapanen were third, with average 26.75.
Also a traditional competition of 4 rounds was played on Saturday 28 March at the indoor felt course of Veritas, Turku. The local felt machine Juha Wellenius won the competition, as usual, with average 28.75. Rising star Niko Tamminen from Pori was second, with average 29.50. Local player Kari Linnanketo was third, after a tied score and play-off against Aki Sillman (average 29.75). » results of Veritas Teamgolf, 29 March 2009 » results of Veritas 4 rounds competition, 28 March 2009
