MGC Appelscha wins 1st round of the LHK

The first weekend of the Dutch Premier League (LHK) has been played on the beton courses of Geldrop. Five teams of each 4(+1) players will compete during the season to qualify for the European Cup in Vaduz, Liechtenstein.

The first team of MGC Appelscha, the champions of last years LHK, also won this round of the LHK. Players Gerco Berentsen, Zeno Folkertsma, Jacco v/d Stelt and Huub Bottenberg played an average of 30.13 in four rounds. They ended with a total of 4 shots ahead of MGC Geldrop which had a total result of 486.

Pretty far behind it was MGC Zoetermeer who took the third place with 508. EMG De Putters came in fourth with 527 and the second team of MGC Appelscha came in last this weekend with 528.

Best player of the weekend was Huub Bottenberg with a total score of 107 (26.75).

Next round of the LHK will be played at the felt courses of Appelscha during the weekend of 2-3 May 2009.

@Erik: these final results are not correct. Open the pdf-file yourself and take another look at it ! The team which ended at last position seems to have won this first competition round..
