Gelsted was clearly the best team when the second part of the Danish team championships was played at the eternite course of Nord-Als Minigolfklub near the German border. However they didn't manage to get any nearer the leading team of Putter Team Odense as they both ended up with 8 points, out of 10 possible.
Putter Team Odense had a sovereign start of the Danish team championships in Odense, but this weekend their nearest followers Ålborg (Johnny Andersen, Stephanie Dallinger, Kåre Thomsen & Allan Schwab) and Gelsted (John Hansen, Jannick Skov, Jakob Petersen & Lars Rosenquist) wanted to prove that they haven't given up at all. Putter Team (Anders Grønnegaard, Erling Jensen, Mads Nørregaard & Casper Frederiksen) had a bad weekend with only Mads Nørregaard in the individual top 10, but they still managed only to lose against Gelsted.
As Gelsted lost their match against the home team from Nord-Als (Harry Lorentzen Wiile, Dennis Prip Hansen, Inge Lise Hansen & Oliver Wiile) they both ended up with 8 points. Ålborg had like Putter Team not the greatest weekend as they only ended up with 5 points, losing to Gelsted and Putter Team and a draw against Nord-Als.
Putter Team is now in the lead with 18 points - 4 points ahead of Gelsted and 5 points ahead of Ålborg. Nord-Als had 7 points at their home course, but still has 4 points to Ålborg on 3rd place.
Best players of the weekend was Kåre Thomsen (Ålborg) with average 21,4, Lars Rosenquist (Gelsted) with average 21,8, and Stefan Østergaard (Gelsted 3) with average 22,4. The former national team player Stefan Østergaard is only playing in the next best league in the team of Gelsted 3, however he managed to play one of his best tournaments for several years - including his first 18-round ever, and also the only one of the weekend.
Halfways through the championships Putter Team have good chances to retain their title, but the next two parts will be very exciting though. They will be played on the eternite courses of Holbæk and Roslev. No tournaments have ever been played on these courses before, so it will be very hard to tell how everything is going to turn out.
