Deep blue when Olsson wins again

Sweden 06 Jul 2009 at 09:19 | Published by: Hans | Views: 8490 | News search

Deep blue when Olsson wins again Once again this 2009 outdoor season the best player in a highly qualified starting field was Anders Olsson of Uppsala. At Sundays felt competition in Jönköping Anders won by scoring all blue scores with a exceptional low outdoor score of 107 (29, 28, 25, 25). Anders now have this amazing row of positions (1,1,2,4,1,1,1) in his outdoor competitions so far in 2009.

This was one of 3 qualifying competitions, OBS competitions, for those who want to play in the Swedish national Team in Odense, so the competition was not easy.

The second position in the A-class, only one stroke behind Olsson and with a brilliant 108 on the four rounds where junior player Filiph Svensson of Skoghall. Third place was taken by Jonas Gustavsson from the home club on 111 and in fourth place landed Fredrik Persson of Granhyddan on 113.

The ladies in the competition played in different classes (since the Swedish HCP-system was used for the classes) but the best three ladies was Karin Wiklund, Uppsala with 30,3 in average, Jessica Rengbrandt (30,7) and Maria Olsson, Jönköping (32,8).

Based on the two played OBS competitions in Uppsala and Jönköping the squad for Odense would look like follows (only counting those who played both).

Men's team (average of eternit in Uppsala + felt in Jönköping)

Anders Olsson (47,5)
Fredrik Persson (49,5)
Carl-Johan Ryner (51,8)
Lars Brown (52)
Hans Olofsson (52,8)
Marcus Larsson (53,2)
Krister Evenmyr (57,1)

Ladies team

Karin Wiklund (52,8)
Jessica Rengbrandt (55,1)
Maria Olsson (57,5)
Sandra Bengtsson (61,5)

Probably there is some players that have only played one of the two that are still in the head of coach Jan Strandberg though. On the men's side there are players like Jonas Gustavsson, Filiph Svensson, Ulf Kristiansson and Pierre Zetterlund. In the ladies side there are Sandra Weaver.

It could also be noted that since we haven't seen any appearance from the following players its not likely to see them in Odense: Jesper Andersson, Gustav Björnberg, Charlotte Ryner and Martin Sjöberg.

Next and last competitions in the OBS-tour is the Swedish Championships on Eternit and Felt in Kungälv starting the 15th of July.
