This weekend, the combi tournament of Odense Minigolfclub in Denmark was played. The eternite course is regular but the concrete is a little harder than average, especially combined with some rain showers, which was the case during saturday.
Dispite difficult conditions, Martin Lundell (Gullbergsbro BGK/Sweden) could take the lead after day 1, with 98 on his 4 rounds, giving him a 4 stroke lead before, among others, Anders Grønnegaard (SPTO/Denmark) and Peter Sørensen (Odense MGC/Denmark).
However, Martin had a bad second day, and as Grønnegaard played superb on the concrete courses (27-28) and Sørensen started off with a round of 18 on eternite, it was set to be a fight between the Danes.
While Sørensen was leading before the final round, it was Anders Grønnegaard who could ace the last course for a glorious victory, scoring exactly 200 strokes, 1 stroke ahead of Sörensen, with young Mads Nørregaard on the bronze place.
It is worth to notice, that Peter Sørensen, former national player, actually hasn't played at all for many years, until a few months ago, when he decided to try a comeback. Even though he didn't win, he played surprisingly well.
Another former national team player, whos name is well nown for many, is Jan Lyø. Jan has now reached the age to play among the seniors for the first time and he won his class quite easy, after a slow start.
